Meet Ariana

I found ABM® through my daughter, Calliope. She was born with a rare genetic syndrome, and while conventional therapies have been tremendously helpful, ABM® opened up a new world of possibilities. What I witnessed in those first few ABM® “lessons” with a Neuromovement® practitioner felt so natural and made so much instinctual sense to me: give Calliope all the experiences of movement that she can’t generate on her own—but in a way that facilitates discovery and learning—through person-to-person connection, not repetition or a drive to fix her.

The more I witnessed, the more I fell in love with the Method. I read Anat Baniel’s book Kids Beyond Limits, and felt a charge of recognition and understanding. I saw how Calliope was gaining a new awareness of her body and how it could move. We saw positive changes in her mood, the range of her movements, and her vision as a result of ABM® lessons.

I started to become fascinated by ABM®, and how it could help people, and in 2017 I decided to become a practitioner myself. As someone who spent most of her adult life as a writer and editor, I’m grateful that in my latest chapter, I get to share my commitment to opening up new possibilities for people through Neuromovement®.
